I am just apply to join the Dartmouth Delegation.
The conference will be held in Cornell during Nov. 5-7. The topic will be mainly about academic issues and student issues.

I was just elected into the Freshman Class Council, acting as Student Assembly Liaison. I failed another campaign for the Vice President of International Student Association. But I do not feel sad, because it was my first running for office. And I learned a lot from that failiure. Next term when the president resigns I will run for it, and I hope this time I will get it.

Anyway, life is still fast paced. The conference will be held during my final week. So it is really a problem. But I won't miss this opportunity.

叹中国错过的那次机遇。

这周末看了400页书，the making of modern japan, japan examined, autobiography by yuchini. 发现日本明治和中国的近代改革的对比是如此鲜明。

The notority of quater system..... Such as have mid-term in the 5th week.
Everyday I have 50 pages to read, weekends 200 pages......

好久不来了。
看见jerry在金门大桥上搔首弄资（光头有个好处就是不怕虱子）
看见peter得意洋洋的吹嘘nyc如何完美和嘲讽俺们这些乡下人是如何可悲。
看见一个叫什么dude来着的正在形成去wellseley拜访花姑娘的意图。
看见很多似曾相识的争吵。
接着offeryu的话题把。
Columbia据说有期末考试乱吼的传统。
至于Dartmouth苦不苦么，你们看我出现的频率也就差不多知道些了。
四学期制度很郁闷的，我门每学期三门客，一共36学分毕业（莎士比亚，恐龙研究，占星术入门，如何吸引异性的艺术等等课程都是一样的价值，1学分）
我这学期选了英语写作（被迫的），现代日本的崛起（对人名字头疼，Tokugawa Ieyasu, Oda Nobunaga, Toyotomi Hideyoshi......鬼才知道哪个是德川家康，羽柴秀吉，织田信长）
钢琴演奏。（好不容易抢道的课，分三学期上完，１学分），旁听稀薄来语和希腊语。（hebrew很有意思！），学校有一个去耶路撒冷大学交流一学期的项目。
体育课这学期选了击剑，下学期准备学越野滑雪。还有很多体育课，高而富，潜水等等。

我们这里还多了一向磨难，就是寒挪威(Hanover)的暴风雪。
所以首先Dartmouth的学生是ivy中最彪悍的。我们学校是ivy league当之无愧的老大（虽然和西海岸的大学联盟相比ivy只是一个二流联盟），老二Yale被甩开一大截。不过近几年好像Dartmouth不太景气。Columbia可怜的Football Team(Tiger or Cat?)咱就不用提了，免得peter面子上过不去。
其次Dartmouth的学生是ivy中最粗况的。几乎校园里到处都有大副标语93% of Dartmouth havn't miss a class because of drinking. 不知道多少人开学前必须完成alcohol education.这里是强制的，peter当时觉得很奇怪为什么还要强制这个考试。我觉得很奇怪为什么不是所有学校都要进行酒精教育。
第三Dartmouth的fraternity是ivy中最普及的。摆满了酒瓶的地窖，摇滚乐，各种各样的饮酒游戏（当然，要看id,21岁以上才能喝liquor,beer=water here)
没办法，一切都是环境造成的。
总之一切学校都有独特的风格，关键是你要学会喜欢你的学校。

I feel shocked.
I feel shocked by a totally different culture, so diverse, so facinating, and so... , you know sometimes there is no word fit.
America is not a barren land of culture as someone may wrongly asume, it do has very good culture. And I am exposed to the bombardment of that culture.
I do not want to say more, because I cannot explain it.
So be it

Well, Hanover is a small town, very friendly.
There are mountains in three directions. The town is located amongst the Appalachian Chains and the Connecticut River. Very good Feng-shui indeed.
The buildings are very beautiful. Red bricks, roman collums...... And trees everywhere. I saw squirrals several times, but no deers yet. It is said that sometimes you can see deers on campus.
The town is quite, and people here are mostly traditional yankees.  

It was really a long long journey.
My plane took off at 12:00am 9/2 Beijing time. With me, there was a Harvard boy and a BU girl. It seemed that they were abroad for the first time. My first flight was on a Boeing 777. It was not big, but very new. There were LCDs on the seat back. I watched many movies. Harry Potter, Shreck, The day after tomorrow( not German version!), and a new western movie. Meals included fangbianmian, dont konw what's wrong with the United Airlines guys.
Well the plane landed on San Francisco on 8:15am 9/2 Mountain Time. The immigration procedure and baggage recheck-in did not take too long time. And I wandered through many book shops. I do not like fast food books. So they had no appeal to me.
The plane to Boston is... dirty and old. Domestic airlines...
When I got to Boston, it was 7:50pm 9/2Eastern time.
I took the dartmouth coach to Hanover.
Boston is... the streets were empty, narrow like those in shanghai. The driver is a tall white man about 40 years old. He was very kind. The coach is very clean and comfortable. However I was too tired to enjoy the movie.
